Testing one image only is not representative on systems that can process more than one image at one. Speed will vary with system and with image pixel dimensions. This is on an overclocked 8 core AMD CPU on appropriate board, 16GB dram, SSD which atto Bench32 tests on my system at 450MB/sec write and 550MB/sec read. I checked that DXO10 processes A99 and A900 folders at the same speed. It could come back.Įdit, add: I agree that clearview works well for some situations that are a lot more trouble to fix by using a combination of other tools.ġ17 24MP A99 images, none cropped, no virtual copies), no prime, no clearview.Īvg seconds per image / images per minuteĪnd yet 10 uses more memory of every category than 9 while running the export.įootnotes: 7.5 doesn't support A99, so I used similar a900 images. This was a big problem, for anyone who often works with hundreds of raw files in one folder.īut I hesitate to say solved for good, since this and other problems in dxo9 were not present in dxo8 or dxo7. So this particular problem seems to be completely solved with, so far, no unintended consequences. Now it remembers the previews it has generated, and picks up there when you navigate back. (Now it works like Adobe Bridge always has.)Īlso DXO10 allows you to navigate to a different folder before the current one has finished generating previews, which dxo9 often would not. With DXO9 if you want to open the last image in the folder, you have to wait for all the others to generate quality previews. Sometimes the image is just represented by a gray square until the preview generates, but if selected it still opens in corrections.

Instead of generating the previews in order, it jumps to any preview selected, generates the preview, then opens in corrections. In the "DXO 10 Release Notes" you can find more details about changes and improvements.Įdited by romke - 31 October 2014 at 07:46Īs other reported, opening files on the preview pane is much faster, and previews are reliably reloaded with almost no delay when restarting the application.Īnd even better, while generating the previews takes a while the first time a folder is opened, you have immediate access to the image for corrections, even if the preview has not been generated.

To users who already had the "FF"-version it does not make a difference in terms of cost of upgrading, people with aps-c cameras that used the "cheap" version of DXO now will either need to upgrade to the "Elite" version, or "upgrade" to the "Essential" version - and loose a few features they had in version 9 in the process. From version 10 on that difference no longer exists - both versions now fully support all cameras, but when you buy the Elite version you get more features. They thus have changed their marketing approach: in the past they had a difference in pricing between the FF supporting version and the "cheaper camera version". The 2 editions do differ quite a bit in features: "Elite" "has it all", "Essential" lacks "Prime" and "ClearView" and quite a few other less essential features, see link

No good for me but may be useful for full frame users, Elite used to be expensive. Just checked my DxO account, it is offering an upgrade from DxO Optics Pro 9.5.2 Standard to 10.0 Elite for £55.00,
